SmBO DB is a historical NoSQL database for IoT configured to store time series data based on the Apache Cassandra Database. The SmBO API toolkit is required to connect to SmBO DB through NI LabVIEW (available in the LabVIEW Tools Network), which allows users ultrafast reading and writing of LabVIEW-supported data types.
SmBO DB (Cassandra) differs from a typical relational database in the following ways:

-Data arriving from many locations
-Manages all types of data
-Supports simple transactions
-No single points of failure; constant uptime
-Supports very high data volumes
-Decentralized deployments
