The SICK 3D Camera Toolkit allows easy integration and application development using Ranger or Ruler cameras from SICK in the LabVIEW environment.

Ranger and Ruler are high-speed 3D cameras for advanced applications in tough industrial environments. The cameras measures object shape (3D) at high speed and quality at the same time as measuring other object features such as color, gray scale, and laser scatter (MultiScan). Measuring the third dimension provides knowledge about object height, shape, and volume. In combination with the MultiScan technology, most object information necessary for a reliable decision is provided by a single camera.

The toolkit offers functionality for camera control, configuration, data post-processing, and data access. It supports calibration of 3D data, registration of RGB-color data, and splitting of MultiScan data into separate images to facilitate post-processing and image analysis. The toolkit is based on the SICK iCon API 4.3 and offers the same functionality and flexibility through a set of VIs.

The toolkit includes several examples on how to interface the 3D cameras, access the 3D and MultiScan data, and use the camera functionality. You can use the examples as starting points for rapid application development.
