The NI PXIe-2532 is a 512-crosspoint, high-speed matrix switch module. With the largest matrix size available in a 3U PXI slot, the NI PXIe-2532 offers ultrahigh-density switch configurations in the PXI platform. With the ability to create up to a 4x2176 or 8x1088 one-wire matrix in a single chassis and even larger configurations with multichassis solutions, the NI PXIe-2532 is ideal for high-channel-count automated test configurations. Featuring compact reed relays with switching speeds up to 2,000 cycles/s and the ability to synchronize with instruments, the NI PXIe-2532 provides maximum throughput in a test system for signals up to 100 VDC/100 Vp or 0.5 A.
Connecting Signals to the NI PXIe-2532
You can choose from several accessory options for the NI PXIe-2532. To make any signal connection to this matrix switch module, you need to use an NI TB-264x front-mounting terminal block. TB-264x terminal blocks provide signal connections through ribbon cable headers. You can use an optional set of four “column” cables and one “row” cable to make these connections. If you prefer screw-terminal connections, you can use NI SCB-264x screw-terminal breakout accessories to connect to the other end of the ribbon cables coming out of an individual TB-264x front-mounting terminal block.
Column Expansion through Row Connections
If you need a matrix size larger than one of the standard NI PXIe-2532 configurations, you can use the NI R1616 column expansion cable to interconnect the rows of two NI PXIe-2532 modules via a TB-264x terminal block. For instance, you can create a 4x256 one-wire matrix with two NI PXIe-2532 modules, two TB-2640 terminal blocks, and one R1616 column expansion cable interconnected between the TB-2640 terminal blocks.
