The NI CompactRIO Controls and Mechatronics Bundle provides deterministic, reconfigurable hardware and software for students and researchers focusing on embedded systems and control design. With a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA-based backplane and a real-time controller, this bundle delivers loop rates up to 40 MHz and deterministic execution of control algorithms. For controls, mechatronics, and robotics applications, it works seamlessly with National Instruments design software including NI LabVIEW, the LabVIEW System Identification Toolkit, the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module, and the LabVIEW MathScript RT Module in addition to the LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Real-Time modules.

You can expand the bundle by incorporating the Quanser Q1-cRIO module for NI CompactRIO to provide direct connectivity to Quanser plants. Additionally, students can focus on control algorithm development with minimal I/O configuration by programming with the Quanser Rapid Control Prototyping Toolkit software add-on for LabVIEW.
