NI USB-485 interfaces transform your universal serial bus (USB) port into an asynchronous serial port for communication with RS485 and RS422 serial devices. The USB-485 uses the NI-Serial driver to work as a standard serial port in any Windows application. NI-Serial also includes the NI-VISA API for accessing advanced serial port features and writing interface-independent code that is compatible with any interface that supports the Virtual Instrument Software Architecture (VISA).
