Data Sheet
The NI Sound and Vibration Toolkit Version 6.0 extends NI LabVIEW graphical development with functions and indicators for handling audio measurements, fractional-octave analysis, swept-sine analysis, sound level measurements, frequency analysis, frequency response measurements, transient analysis, and several sound and vibration displays. It also includes the new NI Sound and Vibration Assistant stand-alone, interactive software for quickly acquiring, analyzing, and logging acoustic, noise, and vibration data. With a configuration-based, flexible measurement library and open-analysis capability, the Sound and Vibration Assistant is designed for quick data capture through a unique software-based measurement approach to create customized applications.
The Sound and Vibration Assistant offers the ability to continually interact with live data, varying analysis settings on the fly while logging data to disk for more analysis later. For example, you can vary the weighting and bandwidth of an octave spectrum while recording sound level data or adjust the window applied to a power spectrum while trending overall vibration readings. With Universal File Format (UFF58) file I/O support, you can acquire data from 24-bit NI dynamic signal acquisition (DSA) devices, including USB DSAs, and then share it easily between other commonly used sound and vibration analysis applications including modal analysis software.
The latest version of the toolkit includes LabVIEW Express VIs for power spectra, frequency response, ANSI and IEC fractional-octave analysis, and distortion measurement. You can quickly and efficiently begin applications with more than 50 ready-to-run LabVIEW example code bases provided in the Sound and Vibration Toolkit.
You also can purchase the Sound and Vibration Toolkit through NI Developer Suite, a modular product offering with which you can select software components based on your application needs. With an NI Developer Suite subscription, you receive a new set of CDs featuring the most recent software version for each product in the suite four times a year as well as direct access to technical support from NI applications engineers via phone and e-mail.
