Torus Fit computes the parameters of a torus so that it best fits a 3D point cloud. It uses a fast and robust algorithm so that it can also handle a large number of 3D points.
If you have a decent estimate on the torus orientation and location, you can further improve robustness and speed by supplying these estimates to the VI.
