The SEA 802.11p Add-on for LabVIEW toolkit delivers unique access to the DSRC and ITS-G5 802.11p standard for the future V2X (Vehicle-to-Anything) communication based on NI hardware platform. It consists of three separate parts: COMMS API, MONITORING API and RF-COMPLIANCE API. This product page covers the COMMS API part. The COMMS API provides access to the communication hardware, parametrization and basic communication functions (send & receive MA-UNITDATA packets) on MAC & PHY layer according to the IEEE 802.11-2012 standard. The COMMS API is the base software package for 802.11p communication and mandatory for the other 802.11p Add-On parts, however, it is fully self-sufficient and can be operated using the SEA 9719 without the other parts, if only basic communication is needed.

Multiple hardware platforms are supported: NI PXI/VST (5644R), NI USRP (2953R/54R) and NI CompactRIO (SEA 9719). The SEA 9719 cRIO module can be operated without a CompactRIO system as well. The COMMS API enables user applications that utilize regular IEEE 802.11p communication (e.g. signal quality test, data throughput test, stress test, HIL) providing a simple & light-weight functions palette for LabVIEW programmers.
