The NI PXIe-8135 is a high-performance Intel Core i7-3610QE processor-based embedded controller for use in PXI Express systems. With the 2.3 GHz base frequency, 3.3 GHz (single-core, Turbo Boost mode) quad-core processor, and 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, this controller is ideal for processor-intensive modular instrumentation and DAQ applications.
Quad-Core Processor
The NI PXIe-8135 includes the quad-core Intel Core i7-3610QE processor. Quad-core processors contain four cores, or computing engines, in one physical package. Intel introduced Turbo Boost technology to provide performance benefits for all types of applications without the application being optimized for multicore processors. It can significantly reduce test times for processor-intensive applications.
Removable Hard Drive
Often, to deploy test and measurement systems in classified areas, you need these systems to have an associated declassification process. Declassifying a PXI system requires knowledge of all memory components in the system including chassis, controller, and modules. PXI embedded controllers feature nonvolatile storage in the form of a hard drive or a flash drive that retains user and system information even after the system is powered down. Because nonvolatile storage is required for the PXI embedded controller to operate, the NI PXIe-8135 with removable hard drive offers the ability to remove this storage media so that you can place it in a secure environment.
In addition to placing the storage media in a secure environment, the NI PXIe-8135 embedded controller with removable drive adds the ability to have separate unique software images loaded onto the same station hardware.
