NI PXIe-5641R RIO IF 收發器若整合 NI PXI-5600 降轉換器與 NI PXI-5610 升轉換器，即可於 PXI 平台上建立 FPGA 架構的軟體定義無線電 (SDR) 系統，以 20 MHz 即時頻寬涵蓋 250 kHz ~ 2.7 GHz 的頻率。NI PXIe-5641R 具有 14 位元、100 MS/s 的類比數位轉換器 (ADC) -- 內建 20 MHz 頻寬數位降轉換器 (DDC)；還有 14 位元、200 MS/s 的數位類比轉換器 (DAC) -- 內建 20 MHz 頻寬的數位升轉換器 (DUC)。此架構可有效將 I/Q 資料傳輸至模組上的 Virtex-5 SX95T FPGA，再透過 NI LabVIEW FPGA Module 進行分析、解調，與訊號處理作業，以建立使用者專屬的軟體定義無線電。

Features intermediate frequency (IF) inputs and outputs for interfacing with analog upconverters and downconverters to acquire and generate RF signals. It also has a powerful LabVIEW-programmable FPGA capable of performing complex modulation and signal processing in hardware at high rates with low latency, both requirements of software-defined radios.

Downconverter
2.7 GHz RF downconverter (NI PXI-5600) 778283-01
Accepts RF signals from 9 kHz to 2.7 GHz with up to 20 MHz bandwidth then downconverts them to 15 MHz IF signals, optimal for interfacing with the PXIe-5641R.

Upconverter
2.7 GHz RF upconverter (NI PXI-5610) 778737-01
Accepts IF signals from the output of the NI PXIe-5641R at 25 MHz with up to 20 MHz bandwidth, then upconverts them to RF signals from 250 kHz to 2.7 GHz.
