The NI PCI-232/16 board is an asynchronous RS232 serial interface for PCI. You can install and use it as standard serial ports. PCI-232 legacy boards, which are available with up to 16 ports, have been replaced by NI PCI-843x next-generation serial interfaces, which offer increased performance and functionality at the same price as the legacy boards. Use PCI-232 legacy boards, available with 2, 4, 8, and 16 ports, only with Windows Me/9x/NT.
