National Instruments 4021 switch controllers provides control of SCXI-based switching systems from a PCI or PXI slot. An NI 4021 connects to the SCXI-1357 or SCXI-1358 high-voltage backplanes, the SCXI-1359 communication adapter, or the SCXI-1362 cable assembly kit via the SH9MD-AUX cable. An NI 4021 requires no additional software other than the NI-SWITCH driver you receive with National Instruments switches. For a completely plug-and-play solution that does not require a PCI or PXI slot, consider using the USB-1359 communication adapter for USB control of an SCXI switch chassis.

Note: The PCI-4021 and PXI-4021 switch controllers are scheduled for obsolescence. The last date they can be purchased is December 31, 2006. Please consider using the USB-1359 communication adapter or the 4 or 12-slot USB Switch Mainframes for new SCXI switch systems.
