The LabVIEW Communications MIMO Application Framework is an FPGA-based software reference design that supports a fully streaming, over-the-air, real-time, 20 MHz TDD uplink and downlink PHY layer based on the LTE standard. Preintegrated and ready to run on NI software defined radio (SDR) hardware, the framework supports four to 128 antennas. The number of antenna channels is reconfigurable through software.
Built in the LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite, the MIMO Application Framework source code is fully modifiable and can be customized to meet a variety of design specifications. Tight integration with the NI line of RF SDR hardware allows researchers to quickly get their real-time, multiuser MIMO prototyping system up and running and ready for experimentation. The MIMO Application Framework, when combined with LabVIEW Communications and NI SDR hardware, forms a complete wireless prototyping solution that enables researchers to accelerate the development of their real-time MIMO prototypes to demonstrate the advanced capabilities of their innovative MIMO algorithms and protocols.
