Starting at $ 1,733 (view pricing options)
  • 1 AS-i Master channel to easily connect sensors and actuators to higher level controls
  • Support for AS-i specification versions 3.0, 2.1, and 2.0
  • Autocommunication with 31 nodes or 62 A/B nodes with extended addressing
  • Diagnose module status, configuration errors, and AS-i activity through front-panel LEDs
  • Download the AS-i driver from the Resources tab
  • -40 °C to 70 °C operating range
  • The BW 3023 requires LabVIEW FPGA 2013 or later.
The BW 3023 AS-i Master connects your CompactRIO system to an AS-i network, which is a universal interface between basic digital actuators and sensors and higher level networks like CANopen, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET. Prior to AS-i or actuator-sensor interfaces, sensors and actuators were connected individually to the controller.

The AS-i network features four components:

1. AS-i Master (BW 3023) - Connects sensors and actuators through the slaves to a high-level controller
2. Nodes (AS-i Slaves) - Sensors/actuators with integrated AS-i connector or AS-i modules with up to 8I/8O
3. Power supply - Provides DC power to the AS-i network
4. Network cable - Provides power and data exchange between nodes and master

The BW 3023 has five pins:
0/1 AS-i +/-
2/3 AS-i PWR +/ AS-i PWR -
4 FE Functional Earth

The power supply connects to the BW 3023 via AS-i PWR +/ AS-i PWR -. The nodes are then connected to AS-i +/-, which conducts power and data exchange between the nodes and the master.
