Air-fuel mixtures and fuel efficiency are increasingly important to automotive designers who are working to make petrol engines more environmentally friendly. Chemical sensors such as oxygen and nitrogen oxide sensors are a critical piece of the feedback control needed for today’s high-tech engines. Engineers can benefit from using these sensors during automotive design and prototyping to reduce emissions.

The Bosch LSU 4.2 wideband oxygen sensor provides a linear response and accurately measures mixtures as rich as 9.0:1 and as lean as pure air. This heated, 5-wire wideband Bosch oxygen sensor uses a standard 18 x 1.5 mm thread.

The Continental Smart NOx sensor module part number is 5WK96755. This is an engineering sample of an automotive NOx sensor which does not carry a warranty from the manufacturer for research, development, or low volume usage. National Instruments does not extend any warranty on the NOx sensors. All other components provided within the module kits and sensor bundles are covered under National Instruments standard warranty policy.
