QuickSyn frequency synthesizers employ a revolutionary phase-refining technology that enables fast-switching speed, low phase-noise performance, and compact size. QuickSyn synthesizers utilize a fundamental VCO to achieve the desired output frequency and to eliminate possible spectrum contamination from subharmonic products. Advanced direct digital synthesis enables a very fine frequency resolution of 0.001 Hz. VCO noise is suppressed by an ultra low noise reference oscillator used in conjunction with a low-noise locking mechanism. Microphonic effects are greatly reduced with the use of low-mass VCOs and a very wide PLL filter bandwidth. The product line offers three varieties—the full-featured QuickSyn, the QuickSyn Lite, or the QuickSyn Lite mmW.

The full-featured QuickSyn microwave synthesizer delivers instrument-grade performance, increased functionality, and efficient power consumption in a compact package and at an equally small price. Models FSW-0010 and FSW-0020 cover the frequency ranges of 0.5 to 10 GHz and 0.5 to 20 GHz respectively. The 10 GHz unit is available with the option to extend down to 0.1 GHz, and the 20 GHz unit can extend down to 0.2 GHz by option. Other optional features include pulse modulation, amplitude modulation, frequency and phase modulation, power control, and fast switching. The QuickSyn Lite microwave synthesizer is a streamlined version of the full-featured synthesizer and is less than half the size too! Instrument designers restricted by space, power consumption constraints, and the need for low phase noise will appreciate the QuickSyn Lite synthesizer as the single solution to a multitude of design challenges. The 10 GHz version (Model FSL-0010) has a frequency coverage of 0.65 to 10 GHz, and Model FSL-0020 covers the 0.65 to 20 GHz frequency range. Models FSL-2740, FSL-5067, and FSL-7682 extend QuickSyn Lite synthesizers into the millimeter wave range by using a frequency multiplier that mounts on top of the QuickSyn Lite FSL-0020. Power and control comes from the FSL-0020 base unit, making integration and control easy for the user. The three available models correspond to three popular millimeter wave bands—27 to 40 GHz, 50 to 67 GHz, and 76 to 82 GHz.
