Quanser Engineering Trainers for NI ELVIS (QNETs)

  • Build intuition by taking models from simulation to implementation using one software platform
  • Illustrate the fundamentals of control design, mechatronics, dynamics, and thermodynamics
  • Save time with comprehensive curriculum that enables a deep understanding of engineering principles
  • Teach controls in engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, and mechatronics

With Quanser Engineering Trainer (QNET) hardware-in-the-loop implementations, engineering students can complement their laboratory work through hands-on, practical experience in the important aspects of engineering practice, which spurs student interest and motivation. QNET plants for the NI Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (NI ELVIS) provide the components you need to set up your control design, simulation, mechatronics/haptics, dynamics, or thermodynamics lab. You can use these QNET plants with NI ELVIS or NI ELVIS II to integrate the NI LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module into your courses. The boards are easily connected to the NI ELVIS workstation to facilitate a diverse range of controls education experiments, thereby extending the functionality of the NI platform.

NI ELVIS features an integrated suite of 12 of the most commonly used instruments in the lab--including the oscilloscope, digital multimeter, function generator, variable power supply, and Bode analyzer--in a compact form factor for the lab or classroom demonstrations. Based on NI LabVIEW graphical system design software, NI ELVIS features USB plug-and-play capabilities to offer the flexibility of virtual instrumentation and allow for quick and easy measurement acquisition and instrumentation.
