D-SUB
Several NI C Series modules feature flexible connectivity options. The 15-, 25-, and 37-pin D-SUB connections are an industry standard. The most common use for a D-SUB cable is to connect a module to a separate terminal block with screw terminals. NI offers standard D-SUB cables and terminal blocks.
10-Pin Screw Terminal to D-SUB
Many popular C Series modules have a 10-pin screw terminal connector. This is sometimes referred to as a “COMBICON” because that is the name of the component in the Phoenix Contact product catalog. National Instruments has designed custom cables for modules featuring 10-pin screw terminals, such as the NI 9215 or NI 9263 C Series modules, to mate to either a 25-pin D-SUB terminal block or open signal wires. These cables are also known as “flying lead” or “pigtail” connectors.
