The NI PXIe-4492 is a high-accuracy data acquisition (DAQ) module specifically designed for sound and vibration applications. Featuring eight simultaneous channels in a single PXI Express module, the NI PXIe-4492 has flexible channel configuration. It provides adequate channels for most single-system noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) tests. And because the module is programmed with NI-DAQmx featuring DAQmx channel expansion functionality, data acquisition code is the same for 1 channel, 16 channels, or 272 channels. This means you can prove ideas and expand later to larger systems if necessary. For even larger noise mapping microphone arrays, dynamic structural test, or data streaming applications, you can synchronize more than 13,000 channels in a multichassis PXI Express system.
Signal Connectivity
NI PXIe-4492 modules feature 4X InfiniBand connectors with eight input channels. The 4X InfiniBand is widely used in high-performance computing applications because it provides excellent signal integrity with a shield plate between input signal pairs. NI offers two cabling options: a shielded breakout cable with 8 BNC connectors and a 19 in. rack-mount adapter with 32 BNC connectors. The rack-mount adapter accepts signals from up to four NI PXIe-4492 modules.

NI PXIe-4492 modules are programmed with NI-DAQmx and are optimized for use with the NI Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite. This suite provides signal processing functionality for performing audio measurements, fractional-octave analysis, frequency analysis, transient analysis, and order tracking. For an interactive software experience, you can use the NI Sound and Vibration Assistant to quickly acquire, analyze, and log acoustic, noise, and vibration data.
