National Instruments C Series digital output and switching modules are compatible with any CompactRIO or NI CompactDAQ chassis, work with 5 V/TTL and extended voltage ranges, and provide high-current switching capacity for direct control of a wide array of industrial actuators. Each module features an integrated connector junction box with a screw-terminal or industrial D-Sub connector for flexible and low-cost signal wiring. All modules feature the NI CompactRIO Industrial Certifications and Ratings.
When used with CompactRIO, each C Series module has a direct connection to the reconfigurable field-programmable gate array (FPGA) in the chassis. Using the NI LabVIEW FPGA Module, you can configure and reconfigure all CompactRIO digital output modules to implement digital waveform generation, pulse-width modulation, or custom digital communication protocols.
When used with NI CompactDAQ, C Series modules run on the NI-STC3 timing controller chip in the chassis. You can use this NI proprietary application-specific interface chip (ASIC) with the NI-DAQmx driver to easily program static digital output, digital waveforms, and relay operation. The NI-DAQmx driver for NI CompactDAQ includes an API for NI LabVIEW as well as many popular text-based languages including ANSI C, C#, and .NET.
