  • 8 frame sizes, 28 frame/stack combinations
  • Speeds up to 8000 RPM
  • Integrated high-resolution smart feedback devices
  • Low-inertia rotors for high-dynamic performance
  • -20 to 120 ºC ambient operating temperature
  • Paired to NI AKD servo drives with direct connect cables

National Instruments AKM brushless servo motors provide superior dynamic performance, a wide variety of frame sizes, and several speed and torque ranges. Perfectly matched with National Instruments AKD servo drives, these motors enable plug-and-play configuration due to integrated Smart Feedback Device (SFD) technology and simplified cabling.

The AKM rotary brushless servo motors incorporate low-inertia rotors and stand out due to their low-cog, low-harmonic distortion magnetic design.

The motors’ compliance with mounting standards from Europe, America, and Asia; international certifications such as cURus and CE; and UL recognition allow worldwide use. With eight different frame sizes and a wide variety of speed/torque combinations, you can choose the motor that best fits your specific application requirements to implement high-efficiency motion systems.

You can use shielded cables to directly connect AKM servo motors to the AKD servo drives. In addition, you can ensure signal integrity by using separate shielded cables for the power signals and the feedback signal. Both cables are available in lengths from 1 to 12 m.

Kollmorgen MOTIONEERING software offers a graphical environment to help you choose the best motor configuration for a specific application. This tool helps you specify application parameters and guides you through the selection process. Download MOTIONEERING for free from the Resources tab.

Motors are available in a variety of sizes and options. Drive size and type will be dictated by the type of motor you select.
A motor drive provides the power electronics necessary to control and drive a motor, as well as an interface for control signals from and feedback to a motion controller or drive interface.
The chassis provides rugged, modular housing for the controller and modules and contains the high-performance CompactRIO backplane, which includes the system's data, timing, triggering buses, and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chips.
The embedded controller runs your application and interfaces with your CompactRIO modules.
