The Blue Ridge Test Biometric Login Toolkit is a plug-in for NI LabVIEW software that you can use to manage enrollment, identification, verification, and diagnostics to create a more secure application environment. You also can track application activity down to recording the exact moment an action was taken.

The toolkit, which includes an example that demonstrates all aspects of the implementation, supports multiple simultaneous LabVIEW projects and applications while restricting access to the fingerprint reader. Further, it launches all dialogs in the VI Server to facilitate integration directly into your current architecture without locking your code at run time.

Configurability: You can use the configurable toolkit for biometric login and/or login with username and password. Each user record stores a name, password, employee number, access level, and multiple fingerprint templates. The access levels are also configurable. You can use this functionality to require specified access levels for certain tasks.

Security: After encryption, an SQL server database is used for storing each user's login information. This schema is used in managing employee enrollment, storing/updating employee login data and fingerprint records, and verifying a correct user login.

Diagnostics: The toolkit also features a diagnostic tool to validate each fingerprint reader. The diagnostic tool checks to confirm the operation of necessary drivers, sensor presence, software capture initialization, user input, image acquisition, and fingerprint template extraction. This level of detail allows quick validation and diagnosis of the biometric login system.

Fingerprint Readers: The toolkit interfaces to commercially available fingerprint readers from manufacturers including Microsoft, DigitalPersona, Bio-I Cyte, Biotouch/Futronic, and M2SYS.
