The NI PXIe-2531 is a 512-crosspoint, high-speed matrix switch module. With the ability to create up to a 4x2176 or an 8x1088 one-wire matrix in a single chassis and even larger configurations with multichassis solutions, the NI PXIe-2531 is ideal for high-channel-count automated test configurations. Featuring compact reed relays with switching speeds up to 2,000 cycles/s and the ability to synchronize with instruments, the NI PXIe-2531 is designed for the low-current, high-speed switching of signals up to 60 VDC/60 Vp.

Connecting Signals to the NI PXIe-2531
Each matrix topology on the NI PXIe-2531 has a unique front-mounting terminal block that provides signal connection through VHDCI connectors. Using an NI SHC68-68 shielded cable and an NI TBX-68 screw terminal breakout, you can connect your signals to the rows and columns of your matrix.

Column Expansion through Row Connections
If you need a matrix size larger than one of the standard NI PXIe-2531 configurations, you can connect the rows of multiple NI PXIe-2531 modules together. For instance, you can create a 4x256 one-wire matrix with two NI PXIe-2531 modules, two TBX-68 screw terminal breakouts, and two SHC68-68 cables.

With NI Switch Executive, you gain increased development productivity by interactively configuring and naming switch modules, external connections, and signal routes. You also increase test code reuse and system performance by using switch programming with NI TestStand, LabVIEW, and Measurement Studio. Ultimately, NI Switch Executive simplifies switch system configuration and increases test performance, lowering your cost to test.
