The NI PXI Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) System is based on the open, PC-based PXI platform, which provides the industry's highest bandwidth and lowest latency. With more than 1,200 products from more than 70 vendors, PXI is the platform of choice for thousands of companies worldwide. When combined with NI SCXI, which is a high-performance signal conditioning and switching platform for measurement and automation systems, it offers a high-performance and high-density SHM system.
The NI PXI SHM System features eight accelerometer and eight strain input channels; however, it is expandable up to 256 channels. The NI PXI-4472B accelerometer channels offer software-selectable IEPE signal conditioning, 24-bit resolution, 110 dB dynamic range, 102.4 kS/s maximum simultaneous sampling, and variable antialiasing filters. The NI SCXI-1520 strain channels provide eight simultaneously sampled analog input channels; quarter-, half-, and full-bridge completion; transducer electronic data sheet (TEDS) smart sensor compatibility; and programmable gain, filtering, and excitation per channel. The system also offers mixed-measurement capability for temperature, voltage, and other variables.
