By purchasing the NI cRIO-9951 CompactRIO Module Development Kit, users, OEMs, and system integrators can develop custom modules to meet the unique needs of particular products and applications. The kit includes CompactRIO module development software and the CompactRIO Module Development Kit user manual. Additionally, it features housing module shells and connectors from the following packages: NI cRIO-9952, cRIO-9954, and cRIO-9955 (quantity 2 each).

Purchase the cRIO-9951 MDK Suite if you wish to resell or market your module individually and stand-alone. To distribute or resell a custom module individually, you must sign the CompactRIO Module Development Kit Distribution Agreement, which provides the licensed right to develop and manufacture custom CompactRIO modules for resell. The kit includes 10 hours of support and required power certification testing to the CompactRIO electrical specification.

Purchase the cRIO-9951 MDK Base for internal-only custom C Series module design or for packaging a custom-designed module within a CompactRIO or NI Single-Board RIO value added reseller (VAR) system. You should purchase the internal-only distribution development kit for academic, internal, corporate-only use or when the module is not distributed outside of a specific application integrated system using CompactRIO or NI Single-Board RIO. The base version of the kit does not include support, but you can purchase optional support from National Instruments. Additionally, you can purchase the option to send your module to National Instruments for power certification testing to the CompactRIO electrical specification.
