The NI WLS-9163 is a single module C Series carrier providing both 802.11b/g and Ethernet connectivity back to a host PC. NI C Series modules deliver direct sensor connections and built-in signal conditioning for a variety of measurements, including temperature, strain, acceleration, current, and voltage. You can use the modules interchangeably for a variety of measurement and control applications across several platforms, including NI CompactDAQ and CompactRIO, and an NI single module USB carrier. You may purchase WLS-9163 carriers and C Series modules separately or together as WLS-9xxx devices. The WLS-9163 is compatible with the following C Series modules:

NI 9211 (4-channel, 14 S/s, 24-bit, ±80 mV thermocouple input)
NI 9215 (4-channel, 100 kS/s/ch, 16-bit, ±10 V analog input)
NI 9219 (4-channel, 100 S/s/ch, 24-bit, ±60 V, ±25 mA universal input)
NI 9234 (4-channel, 51.2 kS/s/ch, 24-bit, ±5 V IEPE input)
NI 9237 (4-channel, 50 kS/s/ch, 24-bit, ±25 mV/V bridge and strain input)

You can synchronize a WLS-9xxx with other devices by using two onboard individually programmable digital trigger lines to export or import sample clocks, start triggers, pause triggers, and reference triggers.

NI Wi-Fi Data Acquisition
NI Wi-Fi data acquisition (DAQ) devices combine IEEE 802.11g wireless or Ethernet communication; direct sensor connectivity; and the flexibility of NI LabVIEW software for remote monitoring of electrical, physical, mechanical, and acoustical signals. With built-in signal conditioning and the highest commercially available network security, NI Wi-Fi DAQ devices stream data in real time for easy-to-use, high-performance remote measurements.

NI-DAQmx Measurement Services Software
NI-DAQmx driver and measurement services software provides easy-to-use configuration and programming interfaces with features such as the DAQ Assistant and automatic code generation to help reduce development time. Every Wi-Fi DAQ device also includes a copy of LabVIEW SignalExpress LE software so you can quickly acquire, analyze, and present data without programming.

Application Software
In addition to LabVIEW SignalExpress, Wi-Fi DAQ devices are compatible with the following versions (or later) of NI application software: LabVIEW 7.1¹, LabWindows™/CVI 7.x, and Measurement Studio 7.x. Wi-Fi DAQ devices are also compatible with ANSI C/C++, C#, Visual Basic .NET, and Visual Basic 6.0.

¹ NI-DAQmx 8.8 (and later) provides support for NI LabVIEW 7.1, 8.2, 8.5, 8.6, and later.
