The NI 8353 RT is a quad-core 1U rack-mount controller for real-time and deterministic control of PXI- or PXI Express-based measurement and control systems. You can bundle this 19 in. rack-optimized server-class controller with an NI MXI-Express or MXI-4 kit for remote control of a PXI or PXI Express system. In addition, you can develop your application with the NI LabVIEW Real-Time Module on Windows and download the program to your NI 8353 RT via Ethernet. The embedded code executes on a real-time OS running on the NI 8353 RT, so you can use powerful and flexible LabVIEW development tools to build reliable, real-time solutions. The NI 8353 RT features an Intel Core 2 Quad processor (2.4 GHz quad core), up to 2 GB of dual-channel DDR2 RAM, dual onboard gigabit Ethernet, and a standard 250 GB removable SATA II hard drive.

Connect to Any I/O
The modularity of PXI and open development environment of LabVIEW make it easy to integrate a variety of I/O in your application. You can create a custom real-time embedded solution using the NI 8353 RT with any number and combination of PXI/CompactPCI plug-in modules.

Run Parallel Tasks on Separate Processor Cores
The LabVIEW Real-Time Module takes advantage of the available quad cores on the Intel processor to increase performance and determinism for large real-time test and control applications. You can either explicitly assign certain tasks to run on specific cores of the processor or let the real-time OS manage this assignment for you.

System Assurance Programs
