The National Instruments PXI-6529 module is an industrial channel-to-channel isolated digital input interface for PXI/CompactPCI systems. You can use the 48 optically isolated inputs of the NI PXI-6529 to read the status of sensors, actuators, and logic devices up to ±60 VDC. PXI-6529 devices are ideal for a variety of applications from automotive design, industrial factory automation, and machine control to aerospace, laboratory research, and biomedical applications.

Industrial Feature Set
Industrial digital I/O devices are designed to incorporate the latest hardware technologies for applications requiring ease of use, high reliability, and performance.

• Isolation separates high-voltage front end circuitry from the low-voltage back end while breaking ground loops, improving common-mode voltage rejection, and protecting the system from hazardous voltages.

• Change detection automatically triggers your software application to perform a read operation after a digital change of state with minimal processor usage.

• Programmable input filters remove noise, glitches, and spikes on inputs as well as provide debouncing for digital switches and relays.

Driver Software
PXI-6529 modules are jumper-free and take advantage of NI-DAQmx measurement services software to speed up application development with features such as DAQ Assistant, automatic code generation, and high-performance multithreaded streaming technology.

Since your device does not have direct signal connectivity, you need a connector block to act as an interface between your sensors/signals and your device. A connector block provides easy access to the inputs and outputs of your hardware.
You need a cable to transmit signals between your device and your signal connections on your connector block.
The chassis provides rugged, modular housing for the controller and modules and contains the high-performance PXI backplane, which includes the system's data, timing, and triggering buses.
The controller runs your application and interfaces with your PXI modules.
You need software to interface with your hardware and to collect, analyze, present, and store your measurements. This board is compatible with a variety of programming languages, including LabVIEW, C/C++, Visual Basic, and .NET.
