The National Instruments 9264 is a C Series module for NI CompactDAQ and CompactRIO that accommodates higher-channel-count systems in either chassis type. When you need more slots, you can use the higher-density modules to conserve space. Each channel can update at up to 25 kS/s/ch because each channel has its own digital to analog converter.
Note that the National Instruments cDAQ-9172 chassis has a limit of 16 programmable output channels, which means you can use only one NI 9264 per chassis. CompactRIO does not have this restriction due to the parallel nature of the FPGA and the reconfigurable I/O driver.
The NI 9264 uses a 36-position connector for the 16 channels of output with each channel having a ground connection. You can purchase extra connectors, which are listed as model NI 9974.
NI now has over 50 C Series modules for your NI CompactDAQ, CompactRIO, or single module carrier. Several of these modules are also supported by other platforms including USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi (802.11).
