The National Instruments Communications System Design Pioneer Program is designed for communications researchers and designers who need a platform for researching communications system design, software-defined radio, and emerging wireless technologies and techniques. The heart of the platform is the National Instruments PCI-5640R – a low-cost, reconfigurable IF transceiver based on a Xilinx FPGA and the NI LabVIEW FPGA Module. With the NI PCI-5640R, universities and industry can research communications system design based on LabVIEW. This board is optimized for communications applications and primarily supports transceiver emulation and software-defined radio applications with the potential for RF test.
