NI USB-232/4 interfaces transform your universal serial bus (USB) port into four asynchronous serial ports for communication with RS232 serial devices. USB-232/4 ports use the NI-Serial driver to work as standard serial ports in any Windows application. NI-Serial also includes the NI-VISA API for accessing advanced serial port features and writing interface-independent code that is compatible with any interface that supports the Virtual Instrument Software Architecture (VISA).
