Specifically designed to aid students in the comprehension of circuit theory, the NI electronics education platform is an end-to-end toolchain that uses interactive learning through simulation and virtual instrumentation to bridge the gap between theory and real-world measurements.
This platform is a unique combination of tools including NI Multisim schematic capture and SPICE simulation software, the NI Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (NI ELVIS) prototyping platform, and NI LabVIEW and LabVIEW SignalExpress graphical system design software.
Students apply concepts taught in a textbook to Multisim, with which they can learn by modeling circuit behavior and interactive circuits. They can compare simulation and real measurements with a single mouse click using NI ELVIS instruments inside the Multisim environment. Students also can implement more complex analysis using LabVIEW or LabVIEW SignalExpress.
The NI ELVIS II Circuit Design Bundle includes the following:
- NI ELVIS II workstation (100 MS/s oscilloscope option is available with NI ELVIS II+)
- NI-ELVISmx driver software
- Multisim capture and SPICE simulation software, educator edition
- LabVIEW Full Development System
- USB cable
In addition, educators can now incorporate plug-in boards from partners such as Freescale, Emona, and Quanser to extend the NI ELVIS platform to teach concepts such as controls, telecommunications, fiber optics, embedded design, bioinstrumentation, digital electronics FPGA, and more.
