NI cFP-2120

Rugged Intelligent Ethernet Controller Interface for Compact FieldPoint with Removable Storage

  • For new designs, NI recommends using the cFP-2220
  • Embedded controller that runs LabVIEW Real-Time for control, data logging, and signal processing
  • 128 MB of nonvolatile storage, 128 MB of SDRAM, and up to 512 MB of removable CompactFlash storage
  • Ethernet interface for PC-based distributed I/O
  • 1 RS485 and 3 RS232 serial ports for connection to peripherals
  • Industrial-grade: 50 g shock, 5 g vibration, and -40 to 70 °C operating range
  • Embedded Web and file servers with remote-panel user interface

Important Note: For new designs, National Instruments recommends the cFP-2220 controller. The cFP-2220 provides a more than two times performance increase at a lower cost.

The National Instruments Compact FieldPoint 2120 industrial-grade programmable automation controller for embedded control or distributed I/O applications is designed for ease of use. No programming experience is required. You can create full-featured applications that include data logging, thousands of analog and digital inputs and outputs, advanced signal processing and analysis algorithms, PIDs, and even motion control with LabVIEW Real-Time. You then can deploy the application directly onto the NI cFP-2120. The cFP-2120 features a 10/100BaseT Ethernet port, four serial ports, removable CompactFlash storage, and extended DRAM memory for larger and more advanced applications.

Control engineers typically use NI cFP-21xx controllers in industrial environments to run PID control loops; actuate valves and motors; take measurements; perform real-time analysis and simulation; log data; and communicate over serial, phone, and Ethernet. Once deployed, the controller can communicate peer-to-peer with other cFP-21xx intelligent FieldPoint controllers or other Ethernet-based devices. In addition, the cFP-2120 interface automatically publishes I/O data through a built-in Web server to a PC running LabVIEW or to your choice of OPC client or HMI/SCADA software.
