The NI PCI-7811R digital RIO board features a user-programmable FPGA chip for onboard processing and flexible I/O operation. You configure all functionality using NI LabVIEW graphical block diagrams and the LabVIEW FPGA Module. Your block diagram executes in the hardware, giving you direct, immediate control over all I/O signals to deliver high-performance capabilities such as the following:
-Complete control over the synchronization and timing of all signals and operations
-Custom onboard decision making that executes with hardware-timed speed and reliability
-160 digital lines individually configurable as inputs, outputs, counter/timers, pulse-width modulation, flexible encoder inputs, or specialized communication protocols
With R Series digital RIO devices and LabVIEW FPGA, you can configure user-defined hardware for a wide variety of applications, such as custom digital data acquisition, high-speed waveform generation, sensor simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test, custom digital communications protocols, bit error rate testing, and other applications that require precise timing and control.
Recommended Accessories The NI SHC-68-68-RDIO cable is designed and shielded specifically for the digital I/O (DIO) connectors on R Series digital RIO devices for improved signal integrity when connected to terminal blocks or the NI 9151 R Series expansion chassis.
Low-Cost, High-Performance Signal Conditioning The NI 9151 R Series expansion chassis connects directly to any digital connector on R Series devices and houses up to four NI C Series I/O modules for low-cost signal conditioning, I/O channel expansion, and direct connectivity.
Since your device does not have direct signal connectivity, you need a connector block to act as an interface between your sensors/signals and your device. A connector block provides easy access to the inputs and outputs of your hardware.
You need a cable to transmit signals between your device and your signal connections on your connector block.
This device requires the LabVIEW FPGA Module (sold separately) and NI-RIO driver software (included with the hardware). LabVIEW and the LabVIEW FPGA Module deliver graphical development for field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chips on NI reconfigurable I/O (RIO) hardware targets.

Extended Warranties
National Instruments designs and manufactures all products to minimize failures, however unexpected failures can still occur. Extended warranties provide a fixed economical price at the time of system purchase, covering any repair costs for up to three years. In addition, they offer the following benefits:
Significant cost savings compared to individual repair incidents
Fault location, diagnostics, and repair by NI any time the system product fails
All parts and labor costs covered as well as any adjustments needed to restore the hardware to manufacturing specifications
NI recognizes the need to maintain properly calibrated devices for high-accuracy measurements. NI provides manual calibration procedures, services to recalibrate your products, and automated calibration software to calibrate many NI measurement products.
Return your registered product under warranty at no additional labor and parts cost. NI offers fault location, diagnostics, and repair any time the system fails as well as any adjustments needed to restore the hardware to manufacturing specifications.
