The National Instruments USB-1358 12-slot plug-and-play backplane adapter includes the USB-1359 communication adapter to communicate with NI SCXI switch modules inside an SCXI-1001 chassis. In addition to simple communication, many switch systems use two or more SCXI modules working together in a large multiplexer or matrix configuration. You can achieve expansion of the multiplexer COMs or matrix rows through the use of the high-voltage analog backplane (HVAB). The NI USB-1358 adds a 12-slot backplane across the SCXI chassis that can handle routing signals of up to 300 V between modules. Modules that can take advantage of the HVAB include the NI SCXI-1127/1128/1129 and SCXI-1175. Refer to the data sheet for information on module compatibility with the USB-1358 backplane.
