Configure System

Use the NI SCXI Advisor to configure an SCXI data acquisition system based on this module.
The NI SCXI-1162 has 32 channels of optically isolated digital inputs, arranged in eight isolated banks of four input lines each. It interfaces to field digital logic signals, such as TTL and CMOS, where high common-mode voltages can be present. The optical isolation of the SCXI-1162 eliminates ground-loop problems and isolates the host computer from damaging voltages. The module is programmed by the data acquisition device serially over the SCXIbus. You can therefore easily integrate SCXI-1162 modules into existing SCXI systems without additional data acquisition devices or cabling. The SCXI-1162 can also operate in parallel mode when cabled directly to a digital I/O device.
The NI SCXI-1600 USB data acquisition module can be used with this module to create a completely plug-and-play USB data acquisition system. An SCXI chassis is required to house the SCXI-1600 and assorted SCXI modules for a particular system. The NI SCXI-1000 chassis is capable of holding up to four modules while the NI SCXI-1001 can hold up to 12.
See the Resources tab for more information about the SCXI-1600, SCXI-1000, and SCXI-1001.
