The National Instruments serial interface boards for PCI are asynchronous serial interfaces for communicating with serial devices. RS485 interfaces are available with up to eight ports. Isolated interfaces are available with up to four ports. You can install and use these boards as standard serial ports from your applications. All interface boards include an enhanced serial driver for improved performance, reliable interrupt sharing between ports, and access to the advanced transceiver control mode of the RS485 interface boards.
This interface is discontinued and has been superseded by the NI PCI-843x next-generation serial interfaces, which offer increased performance and functionality at the same price as the discontinued boards.
