The National Instruments PXI-2532 is a 512-crosspoint, high-speed matrix switch module. With the largest matrix size available in a 3U PXI slot, the NI PXI-2532 offers ultrahigh-density switch configurations in PXI. With the ability to create up to a 4x2176 or 8x1088 1-wire matrix in a single PXI chassis and even larger configurations with multichassis solutions, the PXI-2532 is ideal for high-channel-count automated test configurations. Featuring compact reed relays with switching speeds up to 2,000 cycles/s and the ability to synchronize with instruments, the PXI-2532 provides maximum throughput in a test system for signals up to 100 VDC/100 Vp or 0.5 A.
Connecting Signals to the NI PXI-2532 There are several accessory options for the PXI-2532. To make any signal connection to the PXI-2532, you need to use one of the TB-264x front-mounting terminal blocks. The TB-264x terminal blocks provide signal connections through ribbon cable headers. An optional set of four "column" cables and one "row" cable is available to make these connections. If you prefer screw terminal connections, the SCB-264X screw terminal breakout accessory is available to connect to the other end of the ribbon cables coming out of an individual TB-264x front-mounting terminal block.
Column Expansion Through Row Connections If a matrix size larger than one of the standard PXI-2532 configurations is required, the NI R1616 Column Expansion Cable is available to interconnect the rows of two PXI-2532s via a TB-264x terminal block. For instance, you can create a 4x256 1-wire matrix with two PXI-2532s, two TB-2640s, and one R1616 Column Expansion Cable interconnected between the TB-2640s.
NI Switch Executive Switch Management Software NI Switch Executive is an intelligent switch management and routing application. With NI Switch Executive, you gain increased development productivity by interactively configuring and naming switch modules, external connections, and signal routes. You also increase test code reuse and system performance with switch programming in conjunction with NI TestStand, LabVIEW, and Measurement Studio. Ultimately, NI Switch Executive simplifies switch system configuration and increases test performance, lowering your cost to test.
Reduce your setup time and total cost of ownership, and get a system you can use out of the box with National Instruments system assurance programs. System assurance programs include:
Installation and integration test of all individual hardware
Courtesy installation of system driver sets and application development environments
Three-year warranty and calibration coverage
Custom documentation plus a custom restore and startup utility
This service is only available for PXI, NI CompactRIO, and NI Compact FieldPoint systems.
National Instruments designs and manufactures all products to minimize failures, however unexpected failures can still occur. Extended warranties provide a fixed economical price at the time of system purchase, covering any repair costs for up to three years. In addition, they offer the following benefits:
Significant cost savings compared to individual repair incidents
Fault location, diagnostics, and repair by NI any time the system product fails
All parts and labor costs covered as well as any adjustments needed to restore the hardware to manufacturing specifications
NI recognizes the need to maintain properly calibrated devices for high-accuracy measurements. NI provides manual calibration procedures, services to recalibrate your products, and automated calibration software to calibrate many NI measurement products.
Return your registered product under warranty at no additional labor and parts cost. NI offers fault location, diagnostics, and repair any time the system fails as well as any adjustments needed to restore the hardware to manufacturing specifications.
