The NI PXI-8420/8 is no longer available. Please contact NI for replacement options. National Instruments recommends the NI PXI-8430/8 as a drop-in replacement with higher performance.

The NI PXI-8420 modules are asynchronous RS232 interfaces available with up to 16 ports. The two NI PXI-8422 modules are identical but offer 2000 V of optical isolation with two or four ports. The eight-port dongle is included in the kit.

The legacy PXI modules have been replaced by the NI PXI-843x next-generation serial interfaces, which offer increased performance and functionality at the same price as the legacy modules. Use the NI legacy PXI modules, which are available in 2-, 4-, 8-, and 16-port versions, only with Windows Me/9x/NT.
