With the National Instruments PXI-PCI8336 kit, you control PXI from your PC through a fully transparent MXI-4 link connected with fiber-optic cabling. MXI-4 provides remote control of PXI systems from PCI computers by implementing a PCI-PCI bridge over a high-bandwidth link. This link is transparent to software applications and drivers, so industry-standard desktop computers and servers can control PXI systems with no additional programming. With MXI-4, PXI modules are used as if they are PCI modules directly installed in your computer. You can also use two NI PXI-8336 modules for linking multiple PXI chassis. The fiber-optic cabling of the NI PXI-PCI8336 provides electrical isolation between the PC and PXI chassis, as well as cabling up to 200 m per link.
