The appropriate transceiver for each port is selected in a configuration utility or in the application. NI CAN modules for PXI use the Philips SJA1000 CAN Controller for advanced functionality such as listen-only, self-reception (echo), and advanced filtering modes and new transceivers for sleep/wakeup mode. Each CAN interface is shipped with NI-CAN device driver software. You can synchronize CAN, DAQ, vision, and motion modules using the PXI trigger bus. All National Instruments CAN interfaces are designed to meet the physical and electrical requirements for in-vehicle (automotive) networks based on CAN.
