The NI PCI-8232 board is a high-performance Gigabit Ethernet interface for PCI based on the Intel 82540EM Gigabit Ethernet controller. It adds an IEEE 488 interface within the single-slot PCI board, saving a slot in your PC. The 1000 Mbits/s Gigabit Ethernet provides a substantial performance increase over 100 Mbits/s Fast Ethernet while remaining completely compatible with 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet networks.
