For trouble free operation, FieldPoint modules should be mounted on 35mm DIN rail and protected from water and conductive dust. National Instruments offers lengths of DIN rail and industrial enclosures for mounting FieldPoint. The NI FP-ENC1 features a hinged cover with 180 deg door opening, removable hinge pins, and quarter-turn latch system and is constructed of durable 16 gauge steel. The enclosure with a solid metal cover is rated to NEMA 4 and 12, and IP66, while the windowed enclosure is rated to NEMA 12 and IP55. The FP-ENC1 can house one network module and up to four FieldPoint I/O modules, which mount on an included DIN rail in the rear of the enclosure.
