The National Instruments Ethernet serial interfaces provide additional RS232, RS422, and RS485 ports to your computer through standard Ethernet networks. The Ethernet serial interfaces connect to either 100BaseTX (100 MB/s) or 10BaseT (10 Mb/s) Ethernet networks and provide asynchronous serial ports. The NI-SDS driver software detects and installs the Ethernet serial interfaces, making the Ethernet layer completely transparent; the additional serial ports are accessible and programmed exactly as the native serial ports on your computer. The Ethernet serial interfaces are available in 2 and 4-port versions. The NI ENET-232/2 is a 2-port, RS232 serial interface. All National Instruments serial interfaces are shipped with NI-SDS driver software, which provides high-level functions for rapid application development.
