NI Measurement Hardware DDK (Driver Development Kit)

  • Programming interfaces for accessing data acquisition device hardware registers
  • Designed for OEM customers
  • Register-level programming manuals for data acquisition
  • Generic interface for OSs such as Windows CE, Linux, Mac OS X , and QNX
  • Example programs for common I/O operations

The National Instruments Measurement Hardware Driver Development Kit (MHDDK) provides development tools and a register-level programming interface for the development of custom driver software. The NI MHDDK is designed for OEM customers who are developing applications that require nonstandard OSs. It provides access to the full device register map and offers examples for completing common measurement and control functions. The NI MHDDK works with a selection of multifunction, analog output, digital I/O, and counter/timer I/O devices, including X Series, M Series, E Series, and S Series multifunction DAQ devices.

When developing high-volume systems, developers can afford to amortize the time and expense of register-level programming across many systems. Register-level programming, while sometimes the best option, requires much more effort than programming with NI-DAQmx (Windows, Linux) or NI-DAQmx Base (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Pocket PC). Developers considering the NI MHDDK should also study the advantages of industry-leading NI-DAQmx and NI-DAQmx Base software.

Standard phone and e-mail support are not available for NI Measurement Hardware DDK users.
