NI cFP-20xx controllers have built-in ports to connect and control external serial devices such as LCD/keypad displays, touch screens, PLCs, bar code scanners, and external I/O. Every cFP-20xx has one RS-232 connector on the front of the module. NI offers the right angle serial cable to attach to this connector when space is tight. For standard RS-232 cables and RS-485 cables applicable to NI cFP-2010 and cFP-2020 controllers, refer to RS-232 and RS-485 Cables and Accessories.
