Important note: For new designs, National Instruments recommends CompactRIO hardware (see Resources tab).
The NI FP-SG-140 is an eight-channel input module for direct measurement of full-bridge and half-bridge strain gages as well as strain gage-based transducers such as load cells, force sensors, and torque sensors. You can measure quarter-bridge strain gages using customer-supplied external resistors. This static strain gage module is designed for DC strain measurements in a variety of applications, such as machine monitoring and control in industrial environments and structural monitoring.
With the FP-SG-140, you can take advantage of programmable bridge completion for full- and half-bridge configuration and the option to program each of its eight channels with a different excitation level of 2.5, 5, or 10 V. Each analog input channel has a software-enabled comb filter that you can set to reject frequencies above 15, 60, or 240 Hz. Designed from top to bottom for productivity and reliability, the FP-SG-140 delivers filtered low-noise analog inputs with 16-bit resolution and features overranging, HotPnP (plug-and-play) operation, and onboard diagnostics to ensure trouble-free installation and maintenance. The FP-SG-140 comes with a NIST-traceable calibration certificate ensuring accurate and reliable analog measurements.
National Instruments designs and manufactures all products to minimize failures, however unexpected failures can still occur. Extended warranties provide a fixed economical price at the time of system purchase, covering any repair costs for up to three years. In addition, they offer the following benefits:
Significant cost savings compared to individual repair incidents
Fault location, diagnostics, and repair by NI any time the system product fails
All parts and labor costs covered as well as any adjustments needed to restore the hardware to manufacturing specifications
NI recognizes the need to maintain properly calibrated devices for high-accuracy measurements. NI provides manual calibration procedures, services to recalibrate your products, and automated calibration software to calibrate many NI measurement products.
Return your registered product under warranty at no additional labor and parts cost. NI offers fault location, diagnostics, and repair any time the system fails as well as any adjustments needed to restore the hardware to manufacturing specifications.
