Arbitrary Waveform Generators with Onboard Signal Processing

Arbitrary Waveform Generators with Onboard Signal Processing
  • Up to 300X reduction in waveform download time
  • FIR and CIC interpolation filters
  • Quadrature digital upconversion to 43 MHz
  • Up to 300X longer play back time

National Instruments onboard signal processing (OSP) adds new functionality to the arbitrary waveform generator. With OSP you can perform quadrature digital upconversion and baseband signal interpolation using the onboard FPGA, greatly reducing the waveform size. You can either store larger waveforms in the onboard memory or use the data reduction to decrease waveform download time.

Onboard signal processing can also perform phase continuous frequency sweeps without the need to download a different waveform for each desired frequency as with traditional arbitrary waveform generators.
