NI Solution for 802.11ac

The latest WLAN technology, 802.11ac, expands on existing 802.11 technologies with a wider RF bandwidth (up to 160 MHz); multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) capabilities; and 256 QAM modulation. The NI WLAN test solution provides flexibility in testing 802.11ac in addition to supporting 802.11a/b/g/n with a range of signal bandwidths including 20, 40, 80, and 80+80 160 MHz for both TX and RX for up to 4x4 MIMO configurations. This solution shows how reduced signaling techniques result in faster test speeds and lower cost of ownership while maintaining the level of repeatability and accuracy associated with box instruments and call processing.

  • Modulation formats up to 256 QAM
  • 4X4 MIMO for both TX and RX
  • Signal bandwidths including 20, 40, 80, and advanced 80+80 160 MHz channel set
  • Optional MAC features such as LDPC, STBC, and AMPDU
  • Support for automated test system development using NI LabVIEW, ANSI C, or Microsoft Visual Studio
