These third party socket drivers overcome limitations of the standard Windows NT PCMCIA driver. For example the Windows NT socket driver (pcmcia.sys) does not provide dynamic resource allocation and "Hot Insertion" of PCMCIA cards. (Insertion while the PC is running).

Installation Procedure for Non-Plug and Play Compatible DAQ Boards
